How We work


Our design and ergonomics depict the quality of our craftsmanship, as such every creation of ours will revamp the existing space to exhibit high elegance. Below is the step by step process of owning a Functional Furniture that is one of its kind.

Design consultation

On contacting us, we can arrange an appointment with our designer at a time convenient to you.

We would like you to bring an architectural drawing of the space showing measurements. If you do not have these, we are happy to come to your home to survey and discuss with you the best-suited layout with respect to space.

During the meeting, we will discuss in detail about your individual requirements and wish list you have for this project. This allows us to design and plan your space in terms of functionality, desired aesthetics and budget.

This initial step would however only include broader discussions on appliances and finishes, while no major decisions are yet made at this point.

This second meeting would be with the core purpose of presenting our proposals along with the drawings including 3D renderings and elevations as per the requirements discussed earlier.

An explanation of the layout will enhance the understanding of our ideas and recommendations along with the rationale behind them. While we present you our best-suited layout, we can discuss other possible alternatives to make the best use of the space.

Your inputs on the material selection and electrical appliances are also considered, since these impact the overall planning and budget. By the end of the meeting, we hope you have enough information to proceed further with the designing process.

At this point, we require a small financial commitment as design fee before any drawing goes for revision or to be released. The design fee collected will be credited against the total project cost if you place an order. However, this amount is non-refundable if you consider withdrawing your proposal later.


Development

On receiving the design fee, the functionality, and design of the kitchen or storage systems are refined for your needs. We work in detail with you and assist you to carefully decide on all finishes, materials, and appliances. Your finalised concept will be presented to you with all the modifications discussed.

Our installation team will then visit your site to verify all the measurements and to discuss the preparation of the space and services that need to be provided. Once you are happy with the final design and wish to proceed with the order, we will issue a “Condition of Sale” document with our final fixed quotation. The price will include the overall cost of the furniture, appliances, worktops, delivery and dry installation.

Processing

To confirm the order, a signed condition of sale and specified deposit will be required. On confirmation of the order, the final detailed drawings will be provided to you along with the drawings for electrical and water points. Appliances will be ordered only after the confirmation of the order.

The lead time for delivery is between 8 - 9 weeks based on the materials ordered. However, there may be exceptions in certain cases or complications.  To ensure a smooth and complete installation, we aim to take delivery of the parts well in advance.

On verifying your expectations in terms of timings, an installation date is mutually agreed.
Our team works in close liaison with your contractors to monitor the condition and progress of your site. In case of any delays in your construction program, on prior intimation installation date can be rescheduled.

The actual installation on site is likely to take between 5 and 10 working days depending on the project size. All our products are installed by our trained in-house installation team. We ensure that the floors are protected sufficiently and the packaging materials are disposed of immediately. During installation, our design team will work in tandem with our installation team and remain accessible to answer any queries that you may have.

We recommend that your contractor's plumber and electrician attend the site during the final days of our installation to connect the required appliances to the service.

After completion of the installation, our designer will make a visit to answer all your queries, provide help and advice on how to maintain and maximise the usage of your new furniture and all the functions originally discussed.
